Walking into a new church for the first time can feel like a lot. New faces. New rhythms. Where do I park? Which door do I use? When do people stand? Will I know the songs? And underneath all those practical questions, the deeper ones often rise up, too:
Will I feel God’s love here? What does the United Church of Christ believe? Will my family truly be welcomed? Could this become a community where I’m known, supported, and encouraged? And how might God use me in this place?
At the Monroe Congregational Church, we don’t expect you to have it all figured out before you arrive. We’re a community called together by Christ, learning our way forward in faith, together. We do our best to nurture each person’s spiritual journey, explore the challenge and wonder of the Gospel, and reach outward with compassion to meet our neighbors’ needs.
You’ll find people here who share a common commitment to follow Jesus, and also a genuine respect for the variety of ways faith is lived and understood. Many of us are seekers; grounded in what we believe, yet still open to fresh insight, deeper spirituality, and the surprising work of God.
Our worship is rooted in real life: the joys we celebrate, the grief we carry, the questions we’re afraid to ask out loud, and the hope we keep coming back for. Shaped by worship, we try to live what we pray; through education, fellowship, music, and inclusive outreach that embraces people in both physical and spiritual need.
I hope you’ll take some time to explore our website and see what’s happening around our church. And if you decide to visit in person, know this: you don’t have to pretend, perform, or have the “right” church background.
There’s a place for you here.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Jennifer Gingras
